As Shaw High School prepares for the 2025 football season, Coach @Michael Woods helped highlight the progress being made behind the scenes and the culture being built within the program under Garner’s leadership. Head Coach Johnny Garner, who began his coaching career in 2016 at Northside High School, has built a reputation as a skilled and dedicated coach. Before coming to Shaw, he served as the Assistant Head Football Coach at Carver High School, bringing a wealth of experience to his current role.
Garner's journey to Shaw has been one of hard work and passion for the game. A former football player at Alabama State University, he understands what it takes to compete at a high level. Under his leadership, the Raiders have made significant strides, and expectations are high as they look to take the next step in 2025.
As Shaw looks toward 2025, Coach Garner is focused on developing both individual players and the team as a whole. He knows that each season brings new challenges, but he’s confident in his team’s ability to rise to the occasion. "Our boys are ready to take the next step," said Garner. "We’re focused on becoming a consistent contender in the state and ultimately bringing a championship to Shaw."
With the 2025 season on the horizon, Shaw High School football is in great hands with Coach Johnny Garner. The Raiders are primed for another exciting season, and their fans are eager to see how far this talented group can go.
