Columbus Police are investigating the second homicide of the year this evening.

Columbus officers and medics were called shortly before 7:00 tonight to find a man reportedly shot in the head outside of the Chevron on Farr Road at Old Cusseta Road. Medics began CPR on the victim and transported him to Piedmont Midtown Emergency Room.

Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Charles Newton was called to the hospital to work the homicide. He identified the victim as 25-year-old Kivonte Clark. Clark was pronounced deceased at 7:04 P.M. by Doctor Johnny Bonner.  He will go for an autopsy.
