GEORGIA (WRBL) – Georgia’s ongoing fight against the spread of coronavirus continues as the number of cases climbs and state officials work on plans to reopen the state in stages, following guidance from the White House and other health officials. As of the most recent update on COVID-19 cases by the Georgia Department of Public Health, 19,399 cases have been confirmed statewide, with 3,703 hospitalized for treatment, and 775 dead to the virus. Those numbers have risen from the cases reported in an update earlier this afternoon, in the first of the GaDPH’s twice-daily coronavirus releases. Locally, there are 229 cases of COVID-19 in Columbus, with 45 in Harris County, 100 in Troup County, a

There has been several of vehicle accidents in Columbus, Georgia involving people being careless and not paying attention to the road. In high traffic areas we must be attentive to all traffic signs and lights.  We have to understanding that when we drive we are driving for others. Police say the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night in the 2000 block of Cusseta Road. Police say they responded to a call at Elizabeth Canty apartments in reference to a large gathering. When they two officers arrived, they learned that an individual had been stabbed in the head. Ahmaud Arbery Shooting Raw Video: Black Jogger Chased And Shot To Death By Father And Son In Georgia   A black Georgia man was chased, shot and killed while jogging more than two months ago, and his family is calling for justice. Ahmaud Arbery, 25, was jogging in a Brunswick neighborhood on February 23 when a man and his son chased him down, telling police later that they thought he looked like the suspect in a series of recent break-ins in the area.
