God called home our brother, Sherman Peebles

Our collective hearts are broken and aching in Columbus, Georgia. God called home our brother, Sherman Peebles. Sherman was a local Ambassador for Muscogee County. He loved his profession in Law Enforcement, and the people loved him being a member of Law Enforcement. You could catch him in his Muscogee County Sheriff Officer Uniform during the week and his barber cape on the weekend. Everybody knew him and everybody loved him. He was never too shy to talk about the goodness of God, never too busy to deliver a kind word of encouragement, and never too occupied to fight for change in our community. I'll never forget his words as a guest speaker to the Criminal Justice Class I was teaching, his unwavering support when it mattered the most, and his shining example of a great husband to his beloved wife ShiVanda Peebles. Sherman was a man of action and a role model to many. May we never forget his passion for our youth and our community, and shall we continue our work to make a difference, knowing he is with us in spirit. Take your rest brother. The city loves you.
