Two children struck by vehicle in accident near Columbus,Ga elementary school

An awful accident is under investigation by police officials early Thursday morning in Columbus Ga.

The scene is taking place near Dimon Elementary School, at the intersection of Southern Pines Drive and Steam Mill Road. The accident is involving two children being struck by an unknown vehicle during a hit and run. One child has passed away and the other is in serious condition. 

Heartbreaking: A normal walk to school on a busy Columbus street ended tragically when two children were struck by a vehicle. One child, a 13-year-old girl, passed away. The other child, an 11-year-old boy, is in serious condition. The vehicle involved fled.
