After she graduates high school, she will be attending the University of New Orleans, where she plans to major in studio arts, pursuing a passion for creativity and expression that matches her determination on the basketball court.Mikayla's journey with basketball began in the third grade, and she’s been dedicated to the game ever since. As a standout player for Hardaway High, she has achieved numerous milestones, including scoring her 1,000th career point on December 15, 2023, a day she’ll never forget. This season, she’s set an ambitious goal: to reach 2,000 career points before she graduates. “It’s a challenge I’m excited to take on,” Mikayla says, showing her drive to make her senior season unforgettable.Beyond her talent for sports, Mikayla is also known for her love of math, her favorite subject. Balancing academics and athletics is no easy task, yet she has always managed to excel in both areas.
